Africans Dominate The 2022 Boston Marathon with Kenya Sweeping The Men’s Race

Africans once again proved to the world that they are the masters of marathons. In the 2022 Boston Marathon held on Monday, April 18 in Boston, Massachusetts, Africans swept all the men’s and women’s races with Kenya leading the pack. 

Kenyans, Peres Jepchirchir and Evans Chebet, winners of the 126th Boston Marathon on Monday in Boston.

In the men’s race, Kenyans took home all the wins. Evans Chebet was the winner while Lawrence Cherono was the runner-up. Benson Kipruto came in 3rd place. Tanzania, Kenya and Kenya came in 4th, 5th and 6th places consecutively.

In the women’s race, Peres Jepchirchir of Kenya came in first place while Ababel Yeshaneh of Ethiopia took second place. Mary Wacera Ngugi came in 3rd. Kenyans continued down the line in 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th places while an Ethiopian came in 8th.

The 126th Boston Marathon was the first staged on Patriots’ Day since 2019. It was canceled in 2020 for the first time in the race’s history because of the pandemic.
